Theatrical traditions in East Cork are strong with local community participation being a cornerstone of the performances. The Haulbowline Theatre Group puts on 3 productions a year and also organise a drama festival at the Naval Base in Haulbowline. The newly renovated Mall Arts Centre in Youghal is the venue for some traditional Irish dancing shows and is poised to develop further with its arts performances.
